Highharvestide & 9th Anniversary Celebration!
Posted in Idle Champions.

Faerûn's Savage Frontier has no shortage of dangers, but that hasn't stopped the citizens of Triboar from carving out a living in this picturesque stretch of fertile northern farmland.

This year, however, the people of Triboar are in need of aid. As the Highharvestide Festival approaches, bandits have begun causing trouble for farmers attempting to bring in their harvests, and it's up to the Champions to put an end to it!

Highharvestide returns with one New Champion and three fresh rebalances! Caramon Majere, Raistlin's twin brother, and the latest Heroes of the Lance Champion to come to the game, is available to unlock today!

Instead of a single reworked Champion this month, THREE of this event's Champions have had targeted rebalances, pumping up their numbers to make them more effective in your formations. You'll find updates to Stoki, Pwent, and Corazón available for flex slots now!

For more information about this year's Highharvestide Event, read on!

Featured Champion

Caramon

Born strong of arm and broad of shoulder with a heart of gold, Caramon Majere is the Sword to his younger twin brother Raistlin's Sorcery. Loyal to a fault, Caramon gives his all to protect his beloved friends and family, even (and often) to his detriment. Together with his fellow Heroes of the Lance, Caramon wields his brute strength tempered with good morals against Takhisis, the Dragon Queen.

Stoki Rebalance

  • We've rebalanced Stoki with a focus on making her gold find ability more comparable to other gold find Champions in her seat whose names start with "Er" and end with "ic".
  • We've adjusted Golden Palm to make it more competitive with other Champions in the same bench seat. The base value has been slightly lowered, but it now stacks multiplicatively, allowing for a much higher ceiling.
  • Building Focus: Encouragement has been buffed to reduce the base attack cooldown of adjacent Champions by 1 second instead of 0.5 seconds.
  • We've made the feat and equipment buffs to Stoki's specializations buff the pre-stack values instead of the post-stack values. This has necessitated some small tweaks to her specialization stacks and base effects:
    • All Out Assault now only counts attacks within the last 5 seconds instead of 10, but the base value is twice as large, so it works out to roughly the same values unbuffed, and significantly more when buffed by equipment.
    • We've made a similar change to A Little Bit Faster Now, halving the stacks but doubling the base value.
  • We have redone all of Stoki's upgrades.

Pwent Rebalance

  • We've rebalanced Pwent with a focus on increasing his flexibility and power in both Companions of the Hall and Dwarf-based formations.
  • Gutbuster Recruits now only loses half its stacks when changing areas, instead of all of its stacks. This should increase Pwent's effectiveness when completing areas near your wall.
  • Bruenor, Me King! can now be buffed by feats and equipment, and these buffs apply to the pre-stack value.
  • We've adjusted some of Pwent's specializations to realize more power for dwarf-centered formations:
    • Recruiting Drive now causes crits from any Dwarves in the formation to always count towards Gutbuster Recruits.
    • Critical Wound's critical hit chance increase is now doubled for Dwarves.
  • We have redone all of Pwent's upgrades.

Corazón Rebalance

  • We've rebalanced Corazón with a focus on increasing his support number.
  • Pirate's Code's effect has been increased based on the number of Champions affected by it, with this additional effect being buffed pre-stack by feats and equipment.
  • Honorary Crewmates now buffs the base effect of Pirate's Code based on how many non-neutral Champions it makes neutral.
  • G.O.A.T. Pirate has been tweaked to increase its potential. It no longer lasts until reset, but now stacks multiplicatively with a higher base effect and reset when a boss area is completed.
  • The Mage Hand specialization now causes Corazón's base attack to also be Magical, allowing him to be used in magic-centered formations.
  • We have redone all of Corazón's upgrades.

Idle Champions: Ahghairon's Day 2026!
Posted in Idle Champions.

Ahghairon's Day commemorates the birthday of Ahghairon, the first Open Lord of Waterdeep and founder of the Lords of Waterdeep. In his name, Lords toast Ahghairon and the Watchful Order, while guildmasters toast the Lords in Ahghairon's name, and common folk leave violets at the base of Ahghairon's Tower, the Plinth, and atop the altars of the House of Wonder.

As part of the festivities, the party is tasked with seeking out a Lord of Waterdeep who stepped down long ago. It seems like an easy request – but if it were easy, it wouldn't have come directly from the Open Lord of Waterdeep herself...
Ahghairon's Day returns with one New Champion and three fresh rebalances! Flint Fireforge, the cantankerous companion who is afraid of lakes and 'allergic' to horses, and the latest Heroes of the Lance Champion to come to the game, is available to unlock today with the launch of the event.

Instead of a single reworked Champion this month, THREE of this event's Champions have had targeted rebalances, pumping up their numbers to make them more effective in your formations. You'll find updates to Jim, Omin, and Prudence available for flex slots now!

Flex Champions

Flex Slots allow players to unlock additional Champions and earn chests during events, choosing from a pool of retired Champions associated with the event. This collection of retired Champions includes the Champions from previous years of the event as well as some Champions whose events have been retired.

Jim Darkmagic Rebalance

  • We've buffed Jim's main Fan Club ability by a small amount, which, considering it's a pre-stack ability, should grant a few more areas of progress if Jim's your main DPS.
  • Magical Mystery Tour has been buffed and adjusted to make it easier to maintain stacks. The base effect is much higher, and only 20% of stacks are lost when changing areas instead of all of them.
  • Fashion Week was intentionally quite underpowered because it required (mostly paid) skins to max out. Considering how many more skins are available for gems in the modern game, we're switching it from additive to multiplicative and replacing Jim's Ultimate Damage equipment buff with a buff that targets it.
  • We also added a new feat for Fashion Week.
  • These combined changes, plus an updated set of upgrades, should provide an exciting boost to Jim!

Omin Dran Rebalance

  • Omin has been given his long-awaited pre-stack!
  • The base effect of Champion of Tymora has been buffed.
  • Adventuring Capital now scales up slowly as more stacks are gained.
  • Omin's specialization choices are now buffed pre-stack.
  • In order to make the above work, we have tweaked the effect of Long Term Investments so it gains stacks slower, but since they're buffed pre-stack, the overall effect is much higher!
  • The effect on Omin's gear that buffed Ultimate Damage now buffs all his Specialization choices.

Prudence Rebalance

  • Prudence has received a number of powerful buffs to her old but still solid kit.
  • Glee's base damage bonus and base stacks have been increased, and it now stacks multiplicatively and is buffed pre-stack by feats and equipment.
  • Delight now buffs the base damage of Glee, and its base effect has been increased.
  • The number of Glee stacks granted by Resolve has been lowered due to Glee now stacking multiplicatively.
  • Frustration hasn't received any changes, but due to some tweaks to her base attack, it now has a chance to add or remove multiple stacks per attack, shortening the frequency of its yo-yo effect.
  • The She Hungers spec has had its chance increased.
  • Added a new set of Specializations that increase the post-stack effect of Glee based on the number of Champions in the formation.
  • Changed her Ultimate Damage gear to instead buff Spec B. This should be more than offset by increases to Prudence's BUD potential.
  • Added new feats that buff Spec B.
  • Added new feats that increase the number of Eldritch Blast beams she fires with her base attack.

Hobbycraft Skins!

Flint Fireforge has arrived, and he's bringing more than just his legendary axe! Inspired by the master craftsman's passion for woodworking, this month's skins celebrate the hobbies that make each Champion unique. Ever wondered what your favorite Champions get up to when they're not saving the Sword Coast? Discover their creative side with a collection of all-new hobbycraft skins arriving throughout the month in Idle Champions!

Event Augments

We have four returning Augments this month, including the Supercharged Damage Boon, which grants 2 MILLION % additional damage per level (stacking multiplicatively). Use these Augments to help supercharge your Ahghairon's Day Variants & Mastery Challenges!
  • Golden Offers: One of your weekly offers will be Golden during this event. Golden offers provide an additional 10% discount! The Golden tag persists when an offer is rerolled.
  • Auto-Blacksmith: Event Champions whose recruitment adventure or variants you complete gain common rarity equipment in all slots, if they don't already have better.
Every tier two or higher event variant completed automatically applies 100 Tiny Blacksmithing Contracts to the variant's Champion's equipment for free!

  • Supercharged Damage Boon: The Global Damage Boon is supercharged, granting 2,000,000% additional damage per level, instead of 200% (stacking multiplicatively).

Flex Champions

Flex Slots allow players to unlock additional Champions and earn chests during events, choosing from a pool of retired Champions associated with the event. This collection of retired Champions includes the Champions from previous years of the event as well as some Champions whose events have been retired. This event's Flex Slot pool includes the following Champions, three of which have been rebalanced:

Nahara Rebalance

  • To Amuse or Avenge is an interesting speed and damage combo ability. We're happy with the speed effect, but have adjusted the damage from additive to multiplicative so that it's much more effective at boosting Nahara's damage at low stacks. We've also made it so that feats and equipment buffing this ability will affect the pre-stack value, providing more oomph if she's well-equipped.
  • Strong Society is Nahara's affiliation synergy and was her featured pre-stack ability. Unfortunately, it was only buffed by a single specialization choice. To fix this, we've swapped her Ultimate Cooldown equipment over to buff this ability, which should provide for a much larger damage boost if you're running a full Black Dice Society formation with decent equipment levels.
  • In addition to the above changes, we have redone Nahara's upgrades to align with his kit updates.

Strongheart Rebalance

  • Justice Needs Champions is Strongheart's base buff, and has been bumped up a touch given as he's in a higher bench seat.
  • Our main change to Strongheart is to adjust all three of his specialization choices to be buffed pre-stack by feats and equipment, rather than post-stack. This will be especially powerful for people who run his A Righteous Event specialization at high stacks.
  • In addition to the above changes, we have redone Strongheart's upgrades to align with his kit updates.

Walnut Rebalance

  • Documancer was a bit of a NOMBO for Walnut. Since you start each area with zero stacks and must kill enemies to get stacks, it is very ineffective when you reach your wall. We've opted to adjust how the stacks reset, removing only half of them when changing areas instead of resetting them. Additionally, feats and equipment that buff this ability will now apply to the pre-stack value, rather than post-stack.
  • Job's Done intention was to give you a damage bonus at the start of each area so you can get that very important first Documancer stack. With the changes to Documancer, it's more of a passive buff that encourages you to hurry along. We've increased its magnitude and duration to keep it at least somewhat relevant.
  • Wolfnut's temporary hit point shield was some of the only health Walnut received to tank with, so we've increased its magnitude. We've also given Walnut a health-boosting piece of equipment (replacing her Ultimate Damage equipment) and bumped up her base health a bit.
  • We haven't made any changes to Contractual Obligations, since it's just a basic health share ability. The changes to Walnut's max health and equipment should, however, improve this ability's effectiveness.
  • Pen-Paws was a good ability in theory, but just didn't have modern numbers. We've changed the stacking from additive to multiplicative, which gives it several orders of magnitude more impact when fully stacked, as it will definitely be when you're at or near your wall.
  • The Co-Signer specialization's base effect has been doubled to provide more impact in formations with multiple "C"-Team Champions.
  • The Temporary Alliance specialization has been changed from additive to multiplicative to give Walnut more synergy in unaffiliated formations.
  • In addition to the above changes, we have redone Walnut's upgrades to align with his kit updates.

Event Augments

Dragondown Event & Summer Queen Celebration!
Posted in Idle Champions.

It's the Summer Solstice in Faerûn, which means it is time for Dragondown and the Court of the Summer Queen Celebration!
While the City of Waterdeep celebrates Dragondown by burning dragon effigies to symbolize the city's victories over invading dragons, some smaller celebrations focus on ceremonial bonfires and charms, with mock-spells and chanted prayers performed as the sun sets.

But something has gone wrong in Luskan this year, where locals have drawn the ire of a Bronze Dragon and its kin...
Trixie the Pixie, a long-time antagonist to the Champions, often appearing astride a charmed creature and always up to some mischief, finally chooses the winning side and joins the Champions in today's Dragondown Event! Our second Featured Champion, Brother Uriah, will be receiving a significant update, with a new Champion Update blog coming on Friday, June 5th, before his launch next Wednesday, June 10th.

For details on Dragondown Year 9, and the Court of the Summer Queen Celebration, read on!

Featured Champions

Trixie

Trixie the Pixie has been a forgettable nuisance for the Champions for a long time, often appearing astride some charmed creature and always up to some mischief. Ambitious and daring, Trixie desperately grasps at a life larger than she's been given, and blames the Champions for their constant meddling in her affairs. Driven to desperation by her many failed attempts at seizing power and influence, Trixie sets out to try a new scheme. She's seen firsthand that the Champions are always hiring. If she can't beat them, she'll join them!
Learn more about Trixie in her Champion Spotlight.

Brother Uriah

Brother Uriah Macawber is a native of Ravenloft, born in the dread domain of Darkon under the iron rule of Azalin Rex. After a horrifying childhood encounter at the Carnival with the demonic entity known as The Caller, Uriah would embrace the worship of the goddess Ezra, Lady of the Mists, offering protection from the forces of darkness to all those in need. Upon joining with the other future members of The Black Dice Society at the infamous House of Lament, Uriah would go on to find true love with his teammate, the undead Aasimar, Nahara... and would eventually discover the dark truth of both the nature of his deity and his mysterious connection to his former liege, the lich-king Azalin Rex.

Idle Champions: Great Modron March 9
Posted in Idle Champions.

Several times each century, the clockwork plane of Mechanus mobilizes a vast wave of modrons and sends them on a tour of the cosmos. Known as "The Great Modron March," this unstoppable tide of lawful constructs journeys across the material plane on the exact same route each time. However, this time something has changed -- the modrons are marching on Waterdeep.

The Great Modron March has returned for Year 9, introducing Laurana Kanan, The Golden General, and Hero of the Lance elf fighter, as well as bringing a major update to Greyhawk's Prince Brightflame himself, Melf

Featured Champions

Laurana

Lauralanthalasa Kanan was a pampered princess of the Qualinesti elves. Then the flames of evil dragons threatened her people and Laurana joined with other heroes to fight the Dragon Queen. In time, she became known as the Golden General: a renowned fighter, dragon rider, and brilliant battlefield commander. Now a living symbol of hope, Laurana fights to save her people and the world.
Laurana is a Support and Tanking Champion whose abilities grow in power as you complete her 20 Achievements, representing her rise from a sheltered elven princess to the legendary Golden General. She increases the damage of Champions in one of three columns behind her, and she excels when assigned with the right soldiers. Once unlocked, you can find this Elf Fighter in Seat 7 (Minsc)

Learn more about Laurana in her Champion Spotlight.

Melf

Born into the royal family of Celene, he assumed the simple name of Melf eschewing a life of comfort as a noble to study the arcane arts and train as a swordsman. He delved in the dungeons of Castle Greyhawk, the Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth and many other harrowing places honing his skills, knowledge and amassing powerful magical items. Melf sees himself as a weapon of weal hurtling toward the heart of the darkest evils in the realm. He is opinionated and has a touch of conceit that he is blissfully ignorant of possessing..
Melf is receiving a major update arriving at the start of the second week of the Great Modron March. His blog launches on May 8th!

Idle Champions: Festival of Fools 9
Posted in Idle Champions.

After a such long and cold winter, the citizens Daggerford are eager to celebrate the Festival of Fools: a day of feasting, drinking, and general foolishness. People don brightly-colored and garish clothing, dancing in the street like court jesters and competing with one another to see who can pull off the most foolish (yet harmless) pranks.

During the festivities a concerned villager approaches the party and asks for help. She says that her husband's prank is to try and taunt a frost giant...
Festival of Fools as returned for Year 9, introducing Tasslehoff Burrfoot, everyone's favorite 'borrower' and Hero of the Lance, as well as bringing a major update to Lucius Elenasto, the Arcane Chromat!

Featured Champions

Tasslehoff

Excitable, friendly, and insatiably curious, Tasslehoff Burrfoot is a kender of no small renown. Tas is the beating heart of the Heroes of the Lance, and his knack for 'borrowing' somehow manages to solve more problems than it causes. While Tas may not see himself as a hero, he is fearless in the face of Krynn's greatest dangers, and he always comes to the aid of his friends.

Learn more about Tasslehoff in his Champion Spotlight.

Lucius

Lucius Virion-Elluin Elenasto was born to high nobility. He thought he knew what he was getting into when he joined the Heroes of Aerois, but then he met his first cow. Dreadful, evil creatures. Lucius is slowly coming out of his nobility shell as he continues to learn the true value of comradery, friendship, and a world without barriers.

Learn more about Lucius and the tweaks we've made to Aerois Synergy across the Heroes of Aerois affiliation in his Champion Spotlight when it releases on April 3rd.

Idle Champions: Fleetswake 9
Posted in Idle Champions.

The party is recruited by one of Waterdeep's merchant guilds to look into a number of mysterious ship disappearances over the past year. Superstitious folk blame Umberlee, but the merchant guild isn't so sure, and as the Fair Seas Festival gets underway your party begins their investigation in the Dock Ward of Waterdeep...

Fleetswake Year 9 finally brings the Heroes of the Lance to Idle Champions, and for us, there was only one choice in who should come first: Raistlin Majere.

Raistlin is available now. We hope you enjoy him. Next week, on March 11, a major update will arrive for Deekin Scalesinger, everyone's favorite troubador who sings about doom. Learn about the changes to Deekin's design when his Champion Update Blog arrives on Friday, March 6.

Featured Champions

Raistlin

Born frail yet gifted with an uncanny aptitude for magic, Raistlin Majere is the Sorcery to his older twin brother Caramon's Sword. The youngest wizard ever to attempt the Test of High Sorcery, Raistlin was forever changed, marked by white hair, golden skin, and hourglass eyes that see the accelerated passage of time...

Learn more about Raistlin in his Champion Spotlight.

Deekin

A former member of the Dripping Fang clan, Deekin was once a Skald for a White Dragon named Tymofarrar. Once he was released from Tymofarrar's service, he set out to become the most amazing storyteller in all of Faerûn. He yearns to sing and tell stories of heroic deeds, but his songs often devolve into 'tales' of the doom that is coming to him or his companions.

Idle Champions: Grand Revel 9
Posted in Idle Champions.

In the Forgotten Realms, Grand Revel is a day of dancing, music, and the eating of sweet treats of all sorts, from chocolate to red "firemint" candies. But even during such an unparalleled day of joy there are quests to be done and adventures to be had. One such adventure revolves around a missing caravan on Chult -- and the Templar of the Order of the Gauntlet who desperately wants it found...
Grand Revel is back, and with it arrives the latest CNE Original Champion: Kyre, the Sun Soul Monk!

Kyre is available to unlock now, while next week on February 11, a major update arrives for Donaar Blit'zen, the copper dragonborn Decisionist for the Acquisitions Incorporated "C" Team. Learn about the modernization of Donaar's design when his Champion Update Blog arrives on Friday, February 6.

Kyre

An unnamed child was born to Damaran refugees fleeing the fall of Bloodstone City at the hands of the Warlock Knights of Vaasa, and orphaned when their parents succumbed to a lingering curse. Taken in by wandering elven monks of Sune, the child grew up in the Waterdhavian Monastery of the Sun, surrounded by compassion, discipline, and the pure light of unconditional love...

Donaar

"This copper, draconic gentleman claims to know more than one hundred different dragons. Chromatic, metallic -- just tons and tons of dragons -- I'm hoping we can leverage some of these connections in our dealings. None of the dragons I've contacted have gotten back to me, but they're probably just very busy right now. This is one of the busiest times for dragons... or so I've been told by my new best friend, Donaar Blit'zen."

Wintershield Mastery Challenges!
Posted in Idle Champions.

You've unlocked Anson, recruited the rebalanced Binwin, and pushed your limits across multiple Wintershield variants. Now it's time to put your skills to the test with WINTERSHIELD MASTERY!

Welcome to the second run of this exciting Event augment! You can learn more about how Mastery Challenges work in last month's Introduction blog. Today, however, we're here to talk about the specifics for this month's challenging restrictions as we all push to get Dragonsoul Card Sleeves for Artemis the Wintershield Event Champions!

Wintershield Mastery Challenges

Base Restriction: Fellowship of the Fallbacks
  • You may only use Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Halflings, and members of The Fallbacks affiliation.

  • Restriction A: Slow Going
    • Enemies gain 5% more health in each area, stacking multiplicatively.
    • You may only use Champions with a base attack cooldown of 5 seconds or higher.

  • Restriction B: Shadow VIPs
    • Enemies gain 5% more health in each area, stacking multiplicatively.
    • Two Formation Slots in the formation are taken up by Shadow Imp Escorts.

  • Restriction C: Attack Pattern
    • Enemies gain 5% more health in each area, stacking multiplicatively.
    • If a Champion is adjacent to another Champion with the same base attack type (ie. melee, ranged, magic), all Champions have their damage set to 0.

  • Restriction D: Building Shadow
    • Enemies gain 5% more health in each area, stacking multiplicatively.
    • In non-boss areas after area 10, an invulnerable Shadow enemy has a 100% chance to spawn alongside each enemy. This chance is reduced by 10% for each unique alignment in your formation. Subsequent enemies spawn with 100% more health for each Shadow enemy in the current area, stacking multiplicatively.

Champion Shop Improvements

With today's update, we also began implementing quality-of-life improvements to the Champions section of the Shop. These updates will roll out gradually over the coming months.

We also noticed during Chest Vaults last year that players enjoyed having access to every Champion's chest. We decided to make that a feature moving forward, accessible through the updated Champions section of the Shop.

Mastery Challenges & Card Sleeve Feedback

Are you excited to test your Wintershield Mastery and collect Card Sleeves for your Wintershield Event Champions? Which Champion are you looking forward to decking out first? Your feedback is important to us, and we would love to have you join our community on one of our official platforms to share your thoughts:

Idle Champions: Wintershield 9
Posted in Idle Champions.

In preparation for Wintershield, our heroes have bought an old map from a street vendor in Waterdeep. Then it started talking. I guess we'd better see where it leads.
Wintershield 9 is here with Featured Champions Anson Iro, the human fighter from The Fallbacks, and a much-needed update for Binwin Bronzebottom, whom you may recognize from Binwin's Minions!

Learn all about the first event of 2026 as you read on!

Featured Champions

Anson

Anson has known his share of hardship in his life. Orphaned at a young age, he and his younger brother were forced to live on the streets, doing what they had to do to keep from starving. But while that experience taught his brother to fear and mistrust the world, it had the opposite effect on Anson...

Learn more about Anson in his Champion Spotlight.

Binwin

Binwin Bronzebottom was a member of a rather infamous adventuring group/company, until he left to spend more time with his family. A grumpy and headstrong dwarf with a penchant for springing traps rather than disarming them, if he's not the first into battle then he's disappointed. There's nary a door, tankard, or acid pit that hasn't felt the wrath of Binwin Bronzebottom at one time or another...
